Charleston Wine + Food Festival
Each March, the acclaimed Charleston Wine + Food Festival brings together the Lowcountry’s best flavors with global inspiration. Since 2005, the five-day festival has celebrated Charleston’s culinary heritage while supporting the chefs, farmers, artisans, and hospitality professionals who shape it. The courses include exclusive tastings, chef-driven dinners, and large showcases that highlight regional ingredients and local talent.

The Charleston Show: Antiques, Art & Design
History and modern design meet at The Charleston Show, returning March 20–22 at Charleston Festival Hall. Continuing the city’s architectural and cultural legacy, the show features antiques, contemporary design, fine art, and jewelry from exhibitors across the U.S. and Europe.
The weekend begins with a Preview Party benefiting the Drayton Hall Preservation Trust, followed by public show days that invite visitors to explore antique furniture, mid-century art pieces, and architectural finds. It’s a celebration of the classics and a reminder of why Charleston’s present is so deeply influenced by its past.
First Friday ArtWalks
On the first Friday of each month (except January and July), downtown Charleston transforms into a walkable gallery experience during First Friday ArtWalks. Hosted by the Charleston Gallery Association, these evenings invite visitors to explore more than 35 galleries from 5–8 PM.
There’s no ticket, no schedule — just grab a map online and bring your sense of discovery. Wander cobblestone streets, peek into hidden courtyards, and experience art in all forms, from Lowcountry landscapes to contemporary works. It’s a casual, welcoming tradition that reflects the region’s creative spirit.
Signs of Spring at Local Gardens
Spring also signals the return of vibrant blooms across some of the area’s most beloved gardens. Cypress Gardens offers scenic beauty and historic charm, with walking paths and reflective waterways surrounded by cypress trees made famous in film and photography.
At Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, visitors can explore protected wetlands, abundant wildlife, and the iconic Audubon Swamp Garden, where boardwalks wind through a thriving ecosystem. Farther along the coast, Brookgreen Gardens spans more than 9,000 acres, for art, history, and horticulture in one unforgettable spring destination.
