A Home for a Hero at Carnes Crossroads
March 14th, 2017
We’re proud and excited that Carnes Crossroads is the location for a very special community initiative that will provide a mortgage-free home for an American hero and his family. U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jeremy Brooking was wounded ten years ago while serving in Iraq. He has had a long road to recovery, but received life-changing news last month when he was surprised with the announcement that he had been chosen to receive a new home through Operation Finally Home at Carnes Crossroads.
The builder of the Brooking’s new Carnes Crossroads home is Jamison Howard of Max Crosby Construction. When Jamison learned about Operation Finally Home, a national non-profit organization that facilitates the construction of mortgage-free homes for our wounded military heroes through contributions from builders, developers and others, he knew he wanted to get involved. His relationship with the Daniel Island Company led him to the opportunity to make this project happen at Carnes Crossroads.
The Brookings — Jeremey, his wife, Tia, and their two young daughters — will be moving here from the midwest later this year. We think the lifestyle and welcoming atmosphere of Carnes Crossroads will be the perfect environment for them to settle and raise their family!
