New Medical Offices Under Construction

November 13th, 2014

A new office and headquarters for a growing Charleston-area pediatric practice is taking shape as the first building on the commercial landscape at Carnes Crossroads. The 9,500-sq. ft. medical office building for Sweetgrass Pediatrics will be a convenient location for patients in this area when it opens next summer. It’s part of what is developing as our community’s commercial district along North Main Street (Hwy 17A) and St. James Avenue (Hwy. 176), the main roadways that connect Carnes Crossroads to Summerville and Goose Creek.

The new facility is being constructed on a site located at one of the entrances to the first residential neighborhood at Carnes Crossroads. It will house four physicians and approximately 30 support staff, and offer a complete range of general pediatric services, along with pediatric sports medicine.

“We are so excited about opening a new location at Carnes Crossroads,” said David Boylston, the co-founder and manager of the practice. “A large number of our Sweetgrass Pediatrics patients come from the Goose Creek area of Berkeley County. Carnes Crossroads presents a great opportunity to offer a closer and more convenient location to serve those patients.”

Sweetgrass Pediatrics was started in 2002 by Boylston and his wife, Dr. Colleen Boylston. The practice quickly grew to include locations in Summerville, West Ashley, Moncks Corner and North Charleston. The Carnes Crossroads location will also house the business offices for the practice and serve as its headquarters.
