Palmetto Eye Institute Opens New Office in Carnes Crossroads

We’re excited to welcome Palmetto Eye Institute to our growing medical community. Dr. Prat Itharat moved his practice, formerly called Palmetto Cataract and Eye Specialists, to Carnes Crossroads earlier this year.
Dr. Itharat, a board certified ophthalmologist, founded his practice in 2012 after working in the Lowcountry since 2008. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Michigan and the State University of New York Upstate Medical University, he completed his ophthalmology residency (where he served as Chief Resident) at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2008.
Palmetto Eye Institute provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, including evaluation and treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eyes, and offer the latest advances in cataract surgery.
Palmetto Eye Institute takes pride in providing an unparalleled patient experience, involving one-on-one care from Dr. Itharat and friendly, attentive service from a skilled staff. Unique in the ophthalmology field, Dr. Itharat performs the entire eye exam, including ancillary testing and measurements for cataract surgery.
