Second Generation Dental Practice Chooses Carnes Crossroads

February 23rd, 2017

A good neighbor will make you smile, have your back in an emergency… and even tell you when you have something in your teeth. Carnes Crossroads’ newest neighbor, Solomon Family Dentistry, hits all the marks.

The Summerville practice opened the doors to its second office on February 1, 2017. The Carnes Crossroads location was chosen for the business’ expansion based on the appeal of being part of a beautiful master-planned community, and the proximity to its flagship Sangaree office.

For these new neighbors, the term “family” is more than a moniker. It refers, of course, to the clients they serve – from grade-schoolers to their grandparents, and all the parents and siblings in between. But it also points to a special relationship within Solomon Family Dentistry.

When Charleston native Dr. A. Frederick Solomon established his practice in Summerville in 1979, he couldn’t have predicted that decades later his son would join him in dentistry. For years, Dr. Jason Solomon and his father have shared a professional partnership, serving patients in the Summerville region. With growth accelerating in this area, now seemed the perfect time for this family team to expand their practice to serve even more families.

Dr. Peper and Dr. Steeley of Solomon Family Dentistry.

At the new Carnes Crossroads office, Dr. Fred and Dr. Jason have strategically entrusted their clients to two of the practice’s longtime colleagues. A member of Solomon Family Dentistry for five years, Dr. Brad Peper is now the managing/owner dentist at Carnes Crossroads. He serves the new location’s patients alongside Dr. Christopher Steeley, who has been with the practice for over twenty years. Remarkably, all eight dentists between the two locations are graduates of MUSC.

But perhaps what is most noteworthy – and neighborly – about Solomon Family Dentistry is their client-focused approach to dental health.

“We provide the type of dentistry that everyone desires: convenient hours, latest technology and industry low fees,” Dr. Jason says.

Dentists at both offices offer extended hours, including weeknights and weekends, and walk-ins, emergency visits and new patients are welcome. Some of the latest technologies that the team uses include digital x-rays and intraoral cameras, as well as CEREC machines, which allow crowns to be started and finished in the same day.

“Patients love this new technology, as there are no more temporaries, or additional times having to take off of work for dental appointments,” explains Dr. Jason.

Still, as ideal a neighbor as Solomon Family Dentistry is, they in turn are the ones feeling grateful to be one of the carefully curated service, retail, and dining options that will eventually become the community’s town center.

“The first thing I noticed here was how inclusive and friendly the neighbors and surrounding neighborhood businesses were when we opened our doors,” Dr. Jason shares. “We are excited to be growing along with Carnes Crossroads and look forward to serving its residents for many years to come!”
