Springtime Brings New Events To Carnes
April 10th, 2019
There’s a lot going on in our parks and neighborhoods, and all kinds of reasons to come explore. Our event calendar is filled with more events than ever before this spring. Read further for details and make plans to come join in the fun at one of Charleston’s fastest growing new communities.
The monthly Food Trucks for Hope event got off to a huge start in March, when approximately 1,800 residents and visitors came out on a beautiful Sunday to enjoy the offerings of 15 food trucks and live music, all to benefit My Sister’s House. Approximately $2,000 was raised for this local non-profit organization that supports women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse. Food Trucks for Hope takes place on the second Sunday of each month behind the Green Barn. Click here for details about the April event, and check our Event Calendar each month to find out which food truck vendors, musicians and non-profit organization will be highlighted.
Looking for other ways to give back? Make plans to participate in our upcoming Blood Drive on Friday, April 26. We’re partnering with Roper St. Francis to start building a supply for the new Berkeley Hospital, which will open later this year. The Blood Drive takes place on Roper’s medical campus, so it’s also a chance to see how the new hospital is coming along and learn more about the outstanding medical services Roper St. Francis is bringing to Carnes Crossroads. If it’s the homes at Carnes that you’re interested in learning more about, you won’t want to miss our Cinco de Mayo Open House on Sunday, May 5. We’re hosting a fiesta at the Information Center and Model Row with festive beverages and snacks to enjoy before and after you head out to visit the beautiful homes available from our outstanding builders.
If you liked what you see at the Open House, come back for a second look the following weekend because we have even more festivities planned. Sabal Homes will be hosting an event on April 11 to showcase their newly updated model home, and on Sunday, Mother’s Day, Food Trucks for Hope returns and we’ll have a special gift for moms who visit the Information Center.
Be sure to mark your calendar for Sunday, May 26 as well, because an exciting new live music series will be kicking off. The Green Barn Jam at Carnes Crossroads, produced by Awendaw Green and GoCo Events, will showcase the talents of local singer-songwriters along with food, drinks and lawn games for the whole family. It’s the first of several Green Barn Jam events that will take place at Carnes this year – we’re excited to host this casual family-friendly concert series in the heart of our community! Tickets are available for purchase now. Click here for details.
And that’s not all… we’ve got lots in store for the summer months as well, including the City of Goose Creek’s series of outdoor Movies on the Village Green and our “Summer Sundays” Open House events.
We look forward to seeing you this spring and summer at Carnes Crossroads!
