Walk. Run. Help End Childhood Cancer.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Carnes Crossroads is proud to host the Charleston Area St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. The event will take place on Saturday, September 24 and the whole family can participate. The 5K route will wind throughout the Carnes Crossroads community’s scenic trails and neighborhood streets. Cost to participate is $10 for ages 6 and up. Children under 5 can participate for free.
Individuals and teams are asked to raise $100 or more to support the kids of St. Jude. The goal for the Carnes Crossroads event is to raise $70,000. If you or your team raises $100 you’ll receive an official race t-shirt. Raise $250 or more to become a member of the Fearless Fundraiser Club and earn additional St. Jude gear.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened its doors in 1962. Since that time, treatments invented there have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent. The non-profit hospital and research facility freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Thanks to committed fundraisers, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
