From day one, the Carnes Crossroads promise was to provide a natural, active, connected community that promotes healthy living. We’re proud to offer plenty of opportunities to help you stay healthy, and that includes amenities like nine full miles of winding trails, lush parks to fly a kite with the kids, and a village green to gather with friends and neighbors.
Those amazing amenities don’t stop there. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Agrihood living and the unique benefits and opportunities coming your way.
Eat Well. Be Well.
Our farm-to-table lifestyle is taking root. We’re continuing to build out the site for our 11-acre farm with organically-grown produce for your family. On The Farm, you’ll find just about any vegetable you can think of – from tomatoes and beets, okra to onions, to broccoli and sweet potatoes. Naturally, residents will reap what we sow and receive a share of the harvests through The Farmshare Program.
It wouldn’t be a real community without a place to gather. You’ll soon be able to enjoy events and celebrations in The Lake House. And the new Barn will include a general store where you can buy produce from The Farm as well as local Lowcountry goods. When you step outside The Barn, you’ll find the U-Pick Orchard that includes seasonal fruits and vegetables where your family can pick from crops such as figs, pears, and persimmons. Just in front of The Barn will be a U-Pick herb and children’s learning garden. Pluck some basil while the kids explore, play, and learn about where their food comes from.
Live Your Best Life
In addition to all the happenings with The Barn and U-Pick areas coming, there will be plenty of opportunities to engage in experiential living at the Agrihood. You’ll be able to get your hands dirty during volunteer farm days and workshops or enjoy guided educational tours. You can always take in the beauty of Agrihood living by going on a healthy stroll through The Farm.
Where Farm Life Meets Modern Living
Our future amenities complete our vision of experiential living. Across the street from The Barn will be our expansive gathering center, the heart of the community –The Lake House. Relax with a friend over coffee or enjoy an engaging social event with your neighbors. You can also use it as a place to set up in peace and quiet to work remotely. We’re all about staying active, so head over to the resort-style pool complete with a waterslide tower that will thrill the kids.
