Windmill Station To Bring Shopping, Dining and New Medical Services

May 10th, 2017

Construction is progressing on the newest addition to the Crossroads, our community’s evolving downtown. Windmill Station at Carnes Crossroads will be home to several established Charleston area medical practices, along with the community’s first retail and restaurant spaces.

A collaboration between Charleston GI, Charleston ENT & Allergy, and Low Country Rheumatology, Windmill Station will be a new Summerville and Goose Creek address for all three practices, and will offer space for additional providers. It will also be home to the community’s first retail businesses and restaurants. It is envisioned that the location will bring advanced healthcare options to Berkeley County, and businesses and services for the growing resident and workforce population at Carnes Crossroads.

At the April 28 ground breaking ceremony, excitement about the project and the addition of new jobs, services and businesses to Carnes Crossroads was in the air.

“With the continued growth in Berkeley County, we recognize the need to be here and we’re thrilled to find a home in Carnes Crossroads,” said Wanda Punteney, CEO of Charleston GI.

Daniel Island Company President Matt Sloan agrees. “This is going to be the new heart of Berkeley County. We’re honored to have a growing selection of some of the finest medical providers in the region establishing a presence here, and look forward to the addition of shopping, dining and services, which these businesses will help attract,” he said.

Windmill Station at Carnes Crossroads is expected to be open Summer 2018.
