Carnes Crossroads Holiday Angel Tree
November 12th, 2019
The Carnes Crossroads Information Center and Property Owners’ Association are organizing an “Angel Tree” initiative for students in need at College Park Middle School this year. We hope you’ll join us by sponsoring a child who otherwise may not get to get to experience the joys of the season.
The Angel Tree initiative is a nationally recognized program that aims to get new toys and clothing into the hands of needy children during the holiday season. Families who are eligible to participate in the program submit requests for items that each child in the household needs in advance of the holiday season. Local schools, social workers and other organizations then partner with members of the community to find sponsors for each child.
The guidance department at College Park Middle School has identified students who don’t have the means to receive gifts this year, and we have committed to finding sponsors for at least 25 of those students. This giving opportunity doesn’t require a significant commitment of money or time. It’s an excellent opportunity for those with virtually any size budget to give back.
This is how it works:
- Stop by the Information Center starting on Nov. 14 to review our Angel Tree display. Each angel is labeled with details about a child in need: age, sex, needs and other relevant information. Select one or more child you would like to support and take the angel home so you have their details handy.
- Purchase a gift or gift for each child you choose based on the information provided.
- Bring your wrapped or unwrapped gifts to the Information Center by Wednesday, Dec. 11, along with your angel so we can identify who the gifts are to be delivered to. If you don’t have time to wrap your gifts, we will do it for you!
- Our team will make sure your gifts are delivered before Christmas!
Please consider joining in this effort, and spread the word to your friends and family – anyone can participate. College Park has more than 25 students in need, so if we have enough participation we will commit to helping more students.
Thank you for giving back to those in need this holiday season!
