This past weekend, Carnes Crossroads welcomed guests with open arms, full hearts, and freshly harvested joy during our Come Home to the Agrihood Grand Opening Celebration.
With live music floating through the air, families strolled natural paths, toured a feast of exciting amenities, and got a literal taste of life in this vibrant, farm-to-front porch community. From hands-on garden fun and fresh local bites to meeting the farmers behind it all, the event was a perfect preview of the lifestyle that’s growing here every day.
Now, we’re giving you a deeper look into what’s sprouting at Carnes Crossroads and how the Agrihood experience blends healthy living, nature connection, and neighborly charm into one thoughtfully cultivated community.
Meet our Professional Farm Team
At the heart of the Agrihood lies the Farm — an organically managed space that offers a bounty of fresh produce and herbs to residents through our community farm share program. Overseen by Agrihood Director Christopher Burtt and supported by Emery Tumbleston and a team of farming experts, the Farm is a place to harvest food, relationships, knowledge, and connection to the land.
From beets to sweet potatoes and herbs and from figs to muscadines, residents are treated to a variety of fresh produce that’s as rich as the soil they’re grown in. In addition, the Farm Store is open to the public and offers year-round local goods like handmade candles, cheeses, and honey — perfect for stocking your pantry or finding a thoughtful gift.
Pick Your Own Adventure
New to Carnes Crossroads is our You-Pick Garden and Children’s Learning Garden, where residents of all ages can get their hands in the soil, learn about plant species, and harvest fresh herbs and produce for themselves. The garden is complete with a Tiny Library for little residents to share the love of reading, along with musical instruments to engage all the senses. It’s a wonderful way to connect with your food, teach little ones about where vegetables come from, and enjoy some screen-free time surrounded by garden delights.
Pool & The Perch are Now Open!
After much anticipation, Carnes Crossroads is pleased to announce the grand opening of an immaculate resort-style pool and three-story waterslide called The Perch — where residents can relax, cool off, and experience endless thrills. These new amenities are now open to residents and their guests, offering even more ways to relax amid natural beauty in our sun-kissed community.
Oyster Gatherings & Good Times
At the center of the Agrihood is the newly opened Lakehouse — a gathering hub for coffee catch-ups, work-from-home hours, and neighborly events, including a not-to-be-missed annual Oyster Roast. Residents can drop in for a quick bite or maybe a Boba tea from the Fresh Picks Cafe. Or, simply relax by the fire kettles for a serene sunset.
All Wellness, All the Time
Adjacent to the Lakehouse is the Wellness Center, a fully outfitted space for cardio, weights, yoga, and meditation. This state-of-the-art facility, staffed with top fitness instructors, exists to support our residents’ active lifestyle.
The Courts Are Now in Session
The long-awaited Sports Courts are now open for lively play. With tennis, pickleball, and half-court basketball, there are opportunities for outdoor fun and friendly competition for everyone. Don’t have the right racquets or gear? No worries! The Lending Locker has everything residents need for an impromptu game, and there’s never any cost to borrow equipment.
Bee Playful
The Bumble Bee Park expands on the existing playgrounds and thoughtful play spaces throughout the community, blending modern amenities into the natural surroundings with the slide hill and thrilling zipline. There’s plenty of open play space for everyone.
