July Sizzles at Carnes Crossroads

June 24th, 2019

Summer’s in full swing and no matter where Carnes Crossroads residents might be vacationing this season, they’ve got plenty of ways to have fun and cool off while they’re at home.

July kicks off with the Independence Day holiday and this year residents will be gathering at Ashby Park for a neighborhood picnic and lakeside viewing of the fireworks display from Northwood Church, which is hosting its annual Red, White & Blue Bash. Residents can enjoy food trucks, games and inflatables at Northwood’s campus starting at 6 pm, then gather with neighbors at Ashby Park to watch the fireworks.

All month long, resident fitness guru Ryoko Abbott is holding her high-energy Aqua Zumba® classes on Thursday mornings at the pool. Participants can cool off and get a workout at the same time with this fun low-impact program. The class is open to both residents and non-residents and costs just $5.

Our community’s monthly food truck event is a great time to mingle with friends and neighbors, pick up lunch or dinner and enjoy live music at the Green Barn, all while supporting a local charity. The July Food Trucks for Hope takes place on the 14th from noon to 5:00 pm.

Later in the month, make plans to join the residents at Carnes for an Outdoor Movie on the Village Green. The City of Goose Creek is helping us bring this 3-part series to residents and visitors, featuring food and snacks for purchase, lawn games for the kids and family fun for all. July’s featured movie is Incredibles 2. The fun starts at 7:30 pm, and the movie starts when the sun goes down.

Come join the residents at Carnes Crossroads for these events this summer and check out what life in our friendly community is all about!
